"Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward," a great color for the start of the new year.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director for the Pantone Color Institute, "Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it."

Tangerine Tango has already taken off in runway shows and interior design. We have even noticed this trend popping up more and more in our products. A fresh color that will add pop to any logo.

The Evolution of Fleece

Ever wonder how fleece came to be? In a recent article by the New York Times, they set out to answer that exact question.

In the late 1970s, Aaron Feuerstein of Malden Mills and a group of engineers began experimenting with polyester. However, it wasn't until 1981 when they collaborated with Yvon Chouinard, owner of Patagonia that fleece hit the mainstream market. Within a decade, the fabric took off. At first going by the name of synchilla but was later changed to what we know now as fleece.

"Beyond embracing environmental issues, fleece’s greatest impact has probably been on the eco-chic fashion industry that blossomed around it." We have even seen this eco-fleece in our industry as well at retail stores.

What a great invention fleece was and especially to have around this time of year.

If you do not know what a pantone color is, it is a set of standard colors for printing, each of which is specified by a single number. We use this system ourselves as this cuts out any confusion.

Each year, a pantone color is picked as Pantone Color of the Year. This year, the color is Honeysuckle Pantone 18-2120.

"Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother color red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.”
